What Is DIT-MCO’s Part in MFG Day?
DIT-MCO is a manufacturer and supplier of wire harness test systems. We design and build our systems in-house. We ship and supply cable testing services worldwide and have been a wire harness testing industry leader for over 60 years. Even before wire harness analyzers, DIT-MCO manufactured and produced many different products. Most known for drive-in theater speakers, DIT-MCO also produced signage, children’s toys, and even a rotary (present-day lawn mower). Since 1948, we have been a proud manufacturer of numerous products. Now, we have over 100 employees making what we do possible. Many departments within our building continually work together to provide our customers with quality test systems.
Why is MFG Day Important?

“There were 12.4 million manufacturing workers in July 2021.” According to the National Association of Manufacturers, in 2019, the manufacturing industry made up 8.51% of the workforce in the US.
“By 2030, 4 million manufacturing jobs will likely be needed.” With a retiring workforce, the manufacturing industry employment numbers will be drastically reduced. If those 4 million jobs aren’t filled, there could be significant ramifications not only in the manufacturing industry but industry wide.
“The majority of manufacturing firms in the United States are quite small.” When you think about manufacturing, it is easy to picture plants with thousands of employees. The reality is that most of the manufacturing firms in the United States are like DIT-MCO or even smaller.
